How many times have you heard about Twitter and Facebook lately? What's the purpose of them? Networking, in the short term; SELLING in the long term. Go to Twitter.com and sign up. Do what it takes to understand it. I can tell you til the cows come home that it's fun, but find out for yourself.
With Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin as tools to point people in your direction, you can sell as much as you can create. The ideas are out there. Figure out what suits your style the best and give it a try. Here are some examples:
- iwearyourshirt.com Jason, a regular guy, is wearing a different tshirt each day. Every day, Jason puts on a sponsor's tshirt and makes a video for ustream.tv, then blogs and Twitters and Flickrs about the t-shirt. Then, he sells the tshirt for whichever amount the number of that day of the year is. January 1 was $1; December 31 is $365. Go to his website and take a look at companies who've bought days already. If you want him to wear your tshirt for a day, he's sold out until August. And if you would like to be the monthly sponsor, that's an extra $1500.
- artomat.org Art-o-mat machines are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to sell art. Pull the knob and walk away with an original work of art... 82 of these machines are all across the USA. Art-o-mats are also in Quebec and Austria. Check out the website for the Art-o-mat closest to you.
